Our tool, based on the WHO** baby growth rate charts for boys and girls, helps you follow your baby’s development. Simply enter your little one’s details and we’ll measure his or her height, weight and head circumference against the average infant.

Your baby is growing before your eyes and every day brings a new developmental milestone, big or small. Tracking your little one’s growth throughout infancy is a useful way to gauge their progress.

A growth calculator chart or a percentile calculator is a measurement tool for tracking your baby’s growth. Using our tool, you can track your baby’s growth from the newborn stage up to 2 years old. What’s more, the charts show your baby’s growth percentile—an important measure of how your baby’s growth compares to that of other babies of the same age and sex.

Simply enter your little one’s latest measurements and hit “track your baby’s growth.” Our tool takes your baby’s weight, height, and head circumference and plots these figures onto an easy-to-read graph.

Our Growth Chart Calculator tool is based on the World Health Organization’s Growth Charts for boys and girls. The WHO international growth standards represent typical growth patterns for babies around the world, including those in the U.S., and are the leading resource to support calculators and trackers for a young baby’s development.

First, enter your baby’s sex and current weight, height, and head circumference measurements into the tool. Your baby’s results are then calculated and the data is displayed on the growth chart in a handy graph.

The vertical (upward) axis measures weight, height, and head circumference, while the horizontal (flat) axis depicts age in months. Our calculator pinpoints where the vertical axis and horizontal lines intersect, and your baby’s growth appears as a small yellow dot.

The graph also displays the average growth percentiles for each category in a slightly darker color so that you can follow along the curve to see how your baby’s growth compares to other infants’ growth.

You may have heard of a growth chart calculator also being called a baby percentile calculator by some health experts or providers.

Growth percentiles are used to compare your baby’s growth to the average growth of babies of the same age and sex. The best way to understand a growth percentile is to imagine 100 babies of the same age and sex. If your baby’s length or height is found to be in the 25th growth percentile, that means that out of the 100 babies, your baby is longer or taller than 25 of the babies but shorter than 75 of the babies.

In a second example, imagine that a baby boy weighs 20 lbs. at 10 months. According to the growth chart calculator, that puts him in the 50th percentile—meaning that 50 percent of 10-month-old babies weigh less and 50 percent weigh more. You can check out this link to learn more about the WHO international growth standards on their website.

If you have any questions about growth or growth percentiles, or about your baby’s weight, height, and head circumference, contact your healthcare provider.

Your healthcare provider will use growth charts and baby percentile calculators to follow your baby’s patterns of growth over time and keep an eye on your little one’s development.

Our growth chart calculator is an easy way for you to track your baby’s progress at home, but you should always follow up with your healthcare provider for regular monitoring.

To read the baby growth chart, look for the yellow dot that represents your baby’s growth. The graph tells you which growth percentile your baby’s measurements fall into—look for the curved area that’s slightly darker than the rest of the chart.
